I heard this week that traffic in Istanbul has reduced by 30%, Fuel prices have soared in the last few months as inflation bites, it seems logical that vehicle usage would drop too. This account for the rise in public transport fares but people have to go to work and for most the car wasn't really an option anyway. People are ending up buying less food, heating their homes less and going without. This isn't helped by the winter rainy season which strikes in January and February, if the temperatures are low this leads to snow and further difficulties. However, it's good that the reservoirs are filling up ready for the summer swelter. This year winter seems harder than usual, a rampant omicron adding to all the other things leads to a feeling of weariness. Tomorrow will be a better day.
